BTC campus

WELCOME TO NUS BTC CAMPUS

And this is Bukit Timah Campus' main Building the Oei Tiong Ham Building

And this is the Manasseh Meyer building.

did you know Manasseh means "making forgetfulnes"?
first used by Joseph when he called his firstborn son Manasseh (Genesis 41:51)

doesn't it look like a Court?

just wanna say it's really a very nice historical place.
did you know the Kent Ridge Campus isn't the place where University of Malaya once reside?
it was in "once-called Raffles College", now called BTC campus. i have pictorial evidences.

take a look at this stone carved wall. has contributions from Johor, Kelantan, Kedah, and lots other big companies of those days... long long time ago

doesn't this picture make you feel that i went to an old school to take a picture of the field? this is BTC's field. take a look, i wanted to take a picture of a great tall tree, to signify its age.. but this would suffice i guess.. haha

now, before you think it looks old and shoddy, take a look at this. peer through this window into the future.

this is the cosy area of the Oei Tiong Nam building

the old hallway refurnished with blinds and nice lightings
lastly, never forget to smell the flowers!!

screaming it out

looking around the world i found
a solace near where i am bound

i search along the vicinity near
for a quiet stream i can rest in here

to my distress i heard a sound
of chariots and horses and men abound

i tried to escape, i tried to run
from those of whom are captors

Chase them away! Chase them away!
for i fear for my sanity

i shout i scream but no one hears
or least i do not know

i reach the gates, the leeway of life
and cried out loud in greatest of fear

Help! Help! save me from my plight
for the fear of my enemies capture is my fright

do not leave me alone out in this place
for i fear to see my captors face

20 gold coins revisited

for anyone who has read my previous post about the 20 gold coins, i'm taking a step back to rewrite it coz i still think it's very very meaningful so do bear with me

think of the times you feel like you're not worth a cent.
think of the times you feel like you're the biggest sinner ever.
think of the times you feel like God's the furthest person away from you
think of the times you feel like a complete loser

a pack of lies

well i had my days...

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

then now,

think of how Jesus came paid for your sins. paid for your every single sin.
think of how Jesus took it all upon himself and bore it till Calvary

H e t o o k i t a l l . r i g h t t h e r e . r i g h t t h e n .

now,

think of how God has become your refuge and stronghold
think of how God has become your shield and strength

H e d i d i t a l l f o r y o u .

still feeling you're not worth a cent? i doubt it.

by grace God has gave us this eternal life.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

so if by grace we're saved, will that mean we're forever saved and can continue living in our carnal nature?

Romans 6:1-2
1. What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
2. By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

see? Paul as much wisdom he had knew the people's minds and told them to make them understand.

lastly,

Romans 12:1
therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship

afflicting scars

suicidal? not a bit!

damn the times i look back and hope
damn the times i don't seem to be efficient
damn the times i seem to fail myself
damn the times i have failed my Lord

who moved my cheese??

i moved it myself by eating it ALL up

time to get a move on and walk toward MORE cheese.

staying on will not help.

whining and having false hope won't do.

pick it up and run.

we are asians

just something short i was kinda stunned today..
i was just at the bus stop when i was my floormate Lawrence in a Saab with his female friends drove by... i didn't notice it was him coz he was in his cool pilot shades....

so anyways.. by the time i got to my floor i saw him... the first thing he said to me was "i'm sorry my friends were impolite and didn't stop for you"

so i was like... "urmm.. okay.. it's okay man.. no problem"

then it dawned upon me.... as an asian i couldn't care less if i drove past a housemate or floormate i do not know that closely or whatever lo...

maybe it's just me... but i didn't think much of that action where they drove by... i thought it was just perfectly normal....

polite is polite... different is definitely different!!

waking up to a yesterday

i woke up one fine morning
i felt i was in my yesterday
the air was fresher
the mood was livelier
the fingers tinging
to the very feeling
.
i knew it at once
so nostalgic it is
the feel of a yesterday
a today never met
.
i was back again
the hands of time i stayed
to rewind it back
to bridge the gap
to know the meaning
to sense the lost
.
but no avail i need to move
from yesterday to a today
and from then tomorrow
for no man lives in the past
and all who do are known as monuments
.
i know i did not wake up to yesterday
but tomorrow just came a little late

the preview of the next best rage in Youtube

hold yer horses if yer going some other direction.

let me pull you guys back.
go to Youtube and search "MNO cq"
look at some of the clips and then come back here and continue on.

let me show you a sneak peak into my role
Me naturally

there you go. =)

now all you have to do is wait for the finished product and ask me for the URL :)

now i'm in editting stage.

good food, great blessing

was quite some time since i last posted on something ME-ish.. well
here we go

this is a map. (OBVIOUSLY) and the little star star thing on the map shows a restraunt called Margarita's, which basically serves Spanish/Mexican Food. YUM

now this is a picture of the place.

nice and cozy right? i heard from my friend the Ambassador of Mexico actually comes down here to eat his meals once in a while! how good is THAT?? and...... Margarita's is one of the top 25 restraunts in Singapore. Food connoisseurs, the meal is served.

on the downside, this place is so good that if you go in without a reservation it might be possible you can stay waiting for quite a while... so make early reservations :D

oh yea.... and this is what i ate... Fajittas (Fa-hee-tas)

yummy? YUMMYY!! good meal

oh.. one thing though, don't go there unless you feel like you have quite a bit of spare cash for the next few weeks.

sports carnival

back to my life i suppose?
so anyways... my body is still kinda aching from the sports carnival last saturday.. ouch
played a game of basketball and 3 games of captain ball.

the funny thing is that we only signed up for captain ball as an event but we wasted most of our energy on basketball which was supposed to kill time in between matches..

crazy ehh?
well our team comprised of me, Gilbert, Wan Jou, Qiu Han, Ying Xia, Keren and her friend, Joshua.

well in the middle of the games Gilbert had to go off to finish his marketing project coz it is worth 10% of the final marks and Keren had to go off to accompany her mom to fetch her brother or something like that.. so we lost our 2 members and got 2 other people to just join in the bandwagon. Allen and another girl.. can't remember her name.. haha =P oopss

so anyways.. we lost all our 3 matches of captain ball.. by the time the third match came, we were all very cui already... my calves were starting to show signs of cramping.. ouch
well, blame it on me being inactive also la... never exercise regularly or anything...

i was told that after we left we were actually given prizes coz we were playing basketball.. no kidding! so it wasn't a total loss.. but anyways.... it's the fun we had that counts right? not the pieces of shiny round plastic bits around our necks yeah? =D

Abortion - story of an unborn kiddo

Month 1
Mommy,
I am only 8 inches long,
but Ihave all my organs.
I love the sound of your voice.
Every time I hear it,
I wave my arms and legs.
The sound of your heart beat is my favorite lullaby.

Month 2
Mommy, today I learned how to suck my thumb.
If you could see me,
you could definitely tell that I am a baby.
I'm not big enough to survive outside my home though.
It is so nice and warm in here.

Month 3
You know what Mommy, I'm a girl!!
Ihope that makes you happy.
I always want you to be happy.
I don't like it when you cry.
You sound so sad.
It makes me sad too,
and I cry with you even though you can't hear me.

Month 4
Mommy, my hair is starting to grow.
It is very short and fine,
but I will have a lot of it.
I spend a lot of my time exercising.
I can turn my head and curl my fingers and toes,
and stretch my arms and legs.
I am becoming quite good at it too.

Month 5
You went to the doctor today.
Mommy,he lied to you.
He said that I'm not a baby.
I am a baby Mommy, your baby.
I think and feel.
Mommy, what's abortion?

Month 6
I can hear that doctor again.
I don't like him.
He seems cold and heartless.
Something is intruding my home.
The doctor called it a needle.
Mommy whatis it? It burns!
Please make him stop!
I can't get away from it! Mommy!!
HELP me!!

Month 7
Mommy, I am okay.
I am in Jesus' arms.
he is holding me.
He told me about abortion.
Why didn't you want me, Mommy?
Every Abortion Is Just . . .
One more heart that was stopped.
Two more eyes that will never see.
Two more hands that will never touch.
Two more legs that will never run.
One more mouth that will never speak.
and One precious & innocent life takenaway...

the juggle of choice

take a few co-curricular activities + another extra activity + tutorial homework + lecture notes + other menial routines = a great big juggle

life in uni is filled with all sorts of stuff which one needs to juggle with only a pair of hands and 24 hours.. time is so short for the things to do...
but then again..
the bad thing is out of all of these things i threw in a lethal item.. wasting time
it's like slitting the hands that juggle causing an inefficiency in the juggling act... gosh

symphony in my mind

as the road of life is trod upon
visions and dreams and hopes are born
.
life is but a symphony
we live it out with dignity
.
in hopes of nations in the future
will sing the songs of yester-years
.
as now the symphony in my mind
the strums of chords and riffs they bind
.
the lyrics of hems and haws i once knew
are now in words bound in faith's sinew
.
i stand with pride and axe in hand
hoping their ears to me they lend
.
i throw the symphony to the crowd
and hope my axe will make a sound
.
i hope it leaves a deeper mark
etched deep into the hearts, oh hark
.
that in the course of this short play
my penny's worth of gifts display
.
but alas i've not found my tune in perfection
to finally bring this symphony to fruition

will i finally know my reason?

title-less

a slit of old
a scar abound
a twitch as gentle
yet pain is found

to dull the ache
to quench the hurt
is not to feel
is not to know

somehow i still feel it stings... like an old wound, it never really goes away

Flag Day

6am... the early morning wake just to get to ICA to get my student pass done...

anyways... 10am... got down into the field to start flagging

went to the under pass to flag down people for donations... there was this caucasian couple i approached, they were kinda nice... gave me some coins.. dunno if the coins were aussie or SGD.. haha
so anyways.... there are many ways to avoid a flagger.
1. take out ur phone and put it on your ear
2. look at the opposite direction and walk away
3. run away at the sight of a flagger
4. talk to a friend and continue all the way till out of sight of flagger
5. pretend being not able to hear or see a flagger (invisible flagger)
6. say you've donated somewhere else pointing everywhere except the right direction
7. simply arrow a place on your body and say you've got the flag day sticker on you.

then there are a few ways to piss a flagger off.
1. bring bag to eye level and show flag day sticker on underside of bag
2. take out your purse and show the flag day sticker in the purse
3. say 'aww.. you poor thing, standing out here for so long' and walk away without giving a cent
4. give flagger a lecture on life's point of views and leave without donating
basically that's it. these are a few pics i took while on the streets of ang mo kio

people in Ang Mo Kio.. trying to cross the road while not getting flagged by me

other flaggers trying to give us a run for our money

nite out in SR16

let me start a bit from 10:00pm onwards of friday.

we started playing 'plaster' a sadistic game which involves hitting of thighs and not saying 'ouch'

as guys naturally we tend to go easy on the girls lo ryte? but the girls use this to their advantage...

ouch they smack hard.. some guys kena from the girls kau kau lo... like Jing Yuan kena by Diana.. waa can see his battle scars

anyways... after all our thighs have become strawberry farms, we went up to the biz sch common area to sit n talk bout racist jokes... singaporeans love those... coz they dun give a shit

then oh yea... it's 4:00am n it's time to sleep...

so the girls got all their sleeping bags together to form a nice snug 'bed'.. good Christian lent them his sleeping bag as a blanket...

in the end me n Chris gotta sleep on the cold hard floor.. well, the floor is our bed...

COLD HARD FLOOR WITH FRIGGIN AIR-CON

dumb me only wore shorts and a Taylors t-shirt.. damn gaya la... stupid too...

after around 30 minutes, i could hear a "snorchestra" going on...
zzz here... ZzZ there... zZZz everywhere!!

never got a wink of slp coz it was so darn cold n all... BRRR

Negaraku - take 2

lets take another look at the song 'Negaraku ku'

ok la.. it is actually quite true what the guy is singing in the song but then again truthfully, what can a song do to help the nation? this will only bring more racial dis-harmony if you please...

to quote what Vee of 'V for Vendetta' said, "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof. " and indeed ideas are definitely a spark for revolutions

many great revolutions start with just an idea but i'm not gonna delve into that la... too history-ish...

ok la.. lets take a closer look on the song and prove it's truthfulness

1) the traffic police force
yes it's friggin true that they have a sweet tooth n love coffee.. 'kopi lui' nearly always does the job. hell yeah every crazy driver will have a spare RM20 in the pocket for such occasions

2) the governmental office
yes they are really slow in moving around.. it's like the scene in Transformers where Captain Lennox is trying to call over to the Pentagon and is held up by the Indian Receptionist guy...

3) the racist government
yes it's quite true to a certain level la... see those STPM student working their asses off trying to cram everything into their brain and then with 2A and 2B they aren't even given a place in the university. so much for trying. ok la.. metriculasi is open to other races.. 2% only. WOW that's something from the government which had first intentions of having metriculasi fully malay..

4) M'sia a peace n harmonious country
first and foremost, WELCOME TO JB, the land filled with thieves, robbers, rapists and killers. flip the local newspaper and you'll get what i mean. everyday there's a new crime case in Johor Bahru.

anyways.. all in all Malaysia is a growing country and stuff like this happen to growing countries right?? so much for good growth after 50 years of independence... big baby

BUT BUT BUT

Malaysia BOLEH!!

stay the sunset

as the sun fades down the sea,
the day fades to night
as the moon sets it's eyes on earth,
the wildlife dance in the cloak of darkness
between night and day
the twilight zone appears
short is it's period
fickle is the time
yet in such a short span of minutes
the well spent evenings keeping watch,
at the awe and beauty it eminates
the light spread in beautiful shades
all work cease for the few moments
enjoying the moments spent together
as the sun and moon greet each other in the heavens
so is the time spent together little
yet in the moments of liberation
from time and space
take joy in the time we have had
short and sweet is it

take pride in which you now have
cherish the people whom you love
cherish even more the people who love you
for their love may wane as your willfulness persists

we meet again friends
